When it comes to sporty fun, there's Skee–Ball, bowling, and even free kayaking in this city—but where, oh where, can you learn how to curl? Well, LeFrack Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park, that's where. LeFrack is now hosting the Brooklyn Curling Club Instructional League. At the two four-week curling courses offered, you'll learn the basics of the game, like how to deliver a stone and what "sweeping" means. You'll also get to play a mini-game after each session with your new curly classmates to test out your skills. $215 will get you four 90–minute classes (you can choose between Wednesdays, November 19–December 17 or Sundays, November 16–December 14), plus your equipment, a required membership into the Grand National Curling Club and a complimentary post-game beer.
Pay attention in your classes, because in January the center is starting full curling leagues, which you may just feel badass enough to join. Until then, head on over to Lefrack's register page and get pumped for you first curling lesson!
