New York’s latest affordable housing lottery has apartments for a price that's hardly been seen in Williamsburg since the turn of the millennium: $532-per-month for a one bedroom.
The two $532 apartments–yeah, it’s going to be a tight competition–are part of thirty newly constructed affordable units at 37 Ten Eyck Street, 37 Maujer Street and 356 Bedford Avenue. All three buildings are within an easy walk from the L, G and J and M trains (and amazing brunch spots). For a chance at the one-bedrooms, a single person’s annual income must be between $20,490 and $24,200, or, for two people, $20,490 and $27,640.
Other units up for grabs in the lottery include 11 one-bedrooms for $847 per month, 15 two-bedrooms for $1,025 and two three-bedrooms for $1,182. The income thresholds for those pads vary, so check Nyc.gov’s Housing Connect for details. You can apply through that website as well—the deadline is April 29th.
