The snowpocalypse is upon us, but even a two-foot blanket of snow across Gotham won't stop some New Yorkers from braving the slushy streets. And restaurants and bars around town are doing their fair share to keep city dwellers warm and toasty during Winter Storm Juno with these snow-day specials:
Ganso will ladle out steaming bowls of sansho-roasted duck breast and leg ramen, served with duck-bone soy sauce and burnt garlic oil, as an off-the-menu snow-day special.
Edi & the Wolf is serving its normally-brunch-only Wolf Burger (grilled onions, Gruyere cheese) tonight with a beer for $16, and will be pouring complimentary glasses of mulled wine.
Professor Thom's is kicking off a movie marathon starting at noon on Tuesday, with a movie schedule announced via the bar's Twitter tomorrow morning. Along with bottomless popcorn, the bar will also be serving happy-hour specials ($4 select drafts and wine, $5 well drinks) until 7pm.
Boulton & Watt will be offering a Blizzard Brunch from noon to 7pm on Tuesday, offering happy-hour specials ($5 drafts, $5 wines) as well as $5 brunch cocktails, including Bloody Marys, Mimosas and sangria.
Forrest Point is hosting a snowman-building contest in their garden at 4pm on Tuesday. Teams of up to four people will have one hour to create their snowman before it's presented to judges for prizes.
Mira Sushi & Izakaya will be serving happy-hour specials from 4pm to 9pm tomorrow, including $5 beers, $6 sake, $13 cocktails and discounted apps (two for $8 or $12), such as gyoza, fried-chicken karaage and togarashi fries.
Jimmy's No. 43 will warm your belly up with $2 off all drafts today and tomorrow, plus a High West high ball special for ten bucks.
The Meatball Shop will dole out two-for-one Hot Buttered Rum cocktails (Old New Orleans rum, brown sugar, butter) at all locations until close tomorrow night.
