James Murphy and Co. appear to be setting their sights on dominating the festival circuit during this year's comeback run. Coachella organizers AEG, in particular, seem to have an affinity for the crew, as they've just announced LCD Soundsystem will be headlining the company's first installment of the new NYC throwdown Panorama in addition to this year's Coachella bill.
The band, which just released its first new song in 5 years, stops off at both events over the course of a newly announced tour (dates coming soon). We know you're all excited to stomp to the "Dance Yrself Clean" beat drop, but get ready to hear some new material at these shows as well, as the band has an upcoming 4th studio album planned to boot.
Panorama Festival was originally set for Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens only a couple weeks after Governor's Ball, much to the latter camp's organizers' understandable chagrin. The proposal was rejected, though, and AEG recently announced a switch to Randall Island Park on July 22–24 (a full month-and-a-half after the independently-run Gov Ball fest takes place there). A full lineup is forthcoming, but the triumphant arrival of this iconic New York crew in the top slot has us hyped already.
