Spring in New York means there will be oodles of opportunities for outdoor dining (we see you, Mad. Sq. Eats), shopping at one of the city’s best flea markets and stumbling upon amazing vehicle-free street fairs.

Speaking of the latter, guess what reopens on Saturday 14? Hester Street Fair! This season, the long-awaited flea will feature 60 curated vendors, hawking everything from art, fashion and food. There will also be a series of hands-on workshops like marbling, tie-dying and shoe-making. Make sure to check out events such as the Ice-cream Social, Pet Day and Indie Record Day this summer, too.

The Lower East Side hot-spot is most notorious for it’s wide selection of grub. New bites such as EN Brassiere’s signature Japanese fried chicken, Scarr’s famous pizza, Spur Tree’s delish Jamaican food and Gordos Cantina’s traditional Mexican cuisine are must. Warning: Wear your stretchy pants and prepare to eat three lunches whenever you go.

Hester Street Fair will run from May 14–October 29 every Saturday from 11am to 6pm. (Enter at the intersection of Essex and Hester Sts.)
