Concentrated local fests like Governors Ball and Hot 97 Summer Jam (see our latest ticket alert for details) attract a lot of buzz. But every self-respecting NYC showgoer knows that one summer-music event towers above all others: SummerStage, which blankets the city with free gigs during the warm-weather months. SummerStage celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and to celebrate, the City Parks Foundation has booked a monster of a lineup, running from May through September, and including shows in all five boroughs.
