Missing the Hamptons' white-sand beaches while stuck in Manhattan? Just head over to Eataly's latest rooftop restaurant, a breezy Italian seaside-themed spot dubbed Sabbia, which translates to "sand" in Italian, opening on April 29. While menus have yet to be finalized, Sabbia will offer lighter coastal fare—we're hoping for oysters and crudo—complemented by an array of refreshing fair-weather cocktails.
Rejigging Eataly's Birreria space, which was recently home to the Italian Alps-inspired winter pop-up Baita, the new restaurant will be fitted with summer-ready decor including relaxing cabanas and beach umbrellas, while a fully retractable rooftop will allow revelers to catch a sunny glow. Stay tuned for more details as they come later this month.
