Do you like space? Do you like the beach? Of course you do! Well... you do now at least. Because this summer Luna Park at Coney Island is combining those two wonderful things into something that looks like the main attraction at a carnival full of malicious ghosts. You’re probably going to want to lay off the hot dogs before boarding this bad boy.

The waterfront amusement park’s newest ride, Endeavor, officially opens to the public on May 13. The space-themed high-thrill attraction sends riders 60 feet into the air at 25 miles an hour, and mimics the sensation of actual flying. So it's a little more intense than whack-a-mole.

To mark the giant terror wheel’s big debut, Luna Park is throwing a Cosmic Kick-Off party on Friday, May 13. Brave guests will be able to experience the new ride while also enjoying live music, giveaways, and “the first-ever alien flash mob dance party.” Hopefully they come in peace.

UPDATE: Representatives for Coney Island now say that Endeavor isn't opening until further notice. Eek!
