New entertainment series Wine & Jazz On The River is, fortunately, everything you'd expect: a luxury cruise on the Hudson, grooving saxophonists belting silky smooth tunes and a healthy store of award-winning wine. The cruise series is part of the Circle Live Summer Concert series at Pier 81’s North River Landing, and will take place on the lavish World Yacht Duchess.
Each of the the upcoming three nights features a different contemporary jazz artist. On July 21, saxophonist Elan Trotman plays his unique blend of Calypso rhythms and traditional jazz forms. Jeff Kashiwa takes the next slot on August 25 with his agile, textured fusion compositions, and on September 22, Matt Marshak presents his dynamic guitar interpretations of funky ’80s jazz.
