The post-Tony Awards massacre hasn’t been quite as bad as in previous years. Yes, Bright Star, the musical with a book and score co-written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell just posted a June 26 closing, but it hadn’t been doing well for a while. American Psycho and Tuck Everlasting bowed out before the Tony Awards ceremony was broadcast this past Sunday. The King and I is a lovely revival, but just didn’t have the staying power of South Pacific (also directed by Bartlett Sher at Lincoln Center Theater). And then there are other shows that were always limited runs. Here’s the run down of what you might want to see in the next 11 days:

Grim and gritty but also full of laughs and hard-won redemption, Danai Gurira’s group portrait of women trying to survive the Liberian Civil War features Lupita Nyong’o among a fiercely talented cast. Through June 19 at the John Golden Theatre.

The Father
Frank Langella just won his fourth Tony Award in this intricate and masterful portrayal of an older man who may be losing his grip on reality. Through June 19 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

The King and I
It’s a Broadway classic and Bartlett Sher’s visually stunning production makes it one of the grandest things playing on Broadway now. The current stars are Marin Mazzie and Daniel Dae Kim. Through June 26 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

Long Day’s Journey Into Night
Tony-winner Jessica Lange is a revelation in this top-notch revival of Eugene O’Neill’s brutally honest family drama. Costars Gabriel Byrne, John Gallagher Jr and Michael Shannon are equally powerful. Through June 26 at the American Airlines Theatre.
