Chris Murillo, the local spirit maker behind Astoria Distilling Company, showcases the brand’s liquors at this 12-seat cocktail bar and tasting room, occupying the first floor of the Falchi Building. At the unfinished copper-topped bar—made of oak staves reclaimed from an early-20th-century local vermouth producer—a seasonal menu highlights the distillery’s signature Queens Courage gin in drinks like a Local G&T, made with Queens-based Haber’s Tonic, and a winter-spiced French 75 riff dubbed the Spark Plug. Along with the bar, the space also houses the borough’s first craft distillery, specializing in small-batch bottles.
