More than two years after pausing due to the pandemic, one of NYC’s longest-running LGBTQ+ bars announced plans to reopen right in its original, decades-old Hell's Kitchen location at a particularly celebratory time: Pride Month. The 9th Avenue Saloon announced its June, 2022 return “under new management, now gay owned & operated for the first time in its four decade plus history” in a press release. It promises familiar vibes in a renovated space.
The bar’s jukebox, photo booth and popcorn are among returning fan favorite features in the refreshed space. The latter’s being made in a shiny new machine, and the facade was festooned with an arrangement of rainbow balloons for the long-awaited occasion. A full bar is available in addition to beer and wine.
