Carroll Gardens resident Shelley Kruth may have opened this neighborhood spot in honor of her 12-year-old daughter, Liza, but the small space offers more than just preteen fashions. A front table is stocked with cheap, hip accessories, such as Dorfman Pacific knit trapper hats ($25), perfect-for-the gym Natural Life tie-dyed headbands (two for $9) and Funky Junque chunky knit scarves ($21), which come in subdued hues like gray and blue. A jewelry section at the rear of the store features loads of fun baubles that don’t scream “I’m in middle school”—and better yet, won’t break the bank. Styles run the gamut from cheeky urban looks, such as Zad’s silver and gold love necklaces ($10), to more delicate, vintagey picks, like Zad’s painted-bird-pendant necklaces ($14). But our favorite just
might be the versatile dangling silver filigree earrings from Trends R
Us ($15).
