Trips to the Poconos from NYC are no biggie, especially on a long weekend...and the journey feels even closer when something this cool is happening just a few hours away! Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in the Pocono Mountains is set to reopen its already-impressive indoor waterpark (on March 8!) with more fun than you'll know what to do with. With the resort's new renovations, families will now get to enjoy a whopping 220,000-square feet of waterpark entertainment, making it the biggest indoor water park in the United States! The current waterpark has more than doubled in size to include new slides:
The Screaming Hyena (a near-vertical plunge with a trapdoor drop)
The Saraha Sidewinder (a 250-foot looping waterslide)
The Smoke That Thunders (info TBA)
Kenya's Korkscrew (a zig-zag slide)
The Cheetah Race Mat Slide (where kids can challenge their friends in a slide race)
The Elephant's Trunk (info TBA).
There will also be an expansion to the existing lazy river, a kids' play area and a swim-up bar for the parents. What's not to love?
