Time Out says

The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, which was temporarily housed inside the Moore Building since opening in 2014, debuted its extraordinary new museum in December 2017. Known for breaking fresh talent and giving primary museum exposure to under-recognized artists, ICA Miami presents contemporary works and site-specific installations across six galleries and a 15,000-square-foot sculpture garden. The museum’s first thematic show, “The Everywhere Studio” (Dec 1–Feb 28), features 100-plus works from more than 50 artists (including Pablo Picasso and Roy Lichtenstein) and explores the influence that personal settings have on how artists work and what they produce.

Miriam Schapiro: 1967–1972 Opening Night + Tour

ICA Miami, the free contemporary art museum in the Design District, celebrates the opening of Miriam Schapiro: 1967–1972, an exhibition highlighting a pivotal era in the legendary feminist artist’s career. Come face-to-face with monumental works tracing Schapiro’s evolution from hard-edge abstraction to her signature “central core imagery,” rich with gendered symbolism. The show also spotlights her early experiments with digital image-making—decades ahead of today’s tech-driven feminist art. The opening reception runs from 4 to 6pm on Saturday, April 19, with a curator-led tour at 5pm. Admission is free with required RSVP and includes complimentary drinks.
