Never mind pub crawls - now you can go straight to the source, courtesy of a new brewery crawl coming to the area around Piccadilly Station.
Manchester's many railway arches have become home to a rising number of brewers in recent years, including Blackjack and Marble in the Green Quarter, and First Chop near Salford Central Station.
Now four microbreweries and one beer distributor located between Piccadilly and Ardwick stations will opening their doors on Saturday afternoons to sell their beers directly to members of the public.
Track Brewing Company, Alphabet Brewing Company, Chorlton Brewing Company and Squawk Brewing Company will be serving brewery-fresh beers to punters, with their creators on hand to chat about the brewing process. Distributor Cave Direct will showcase a range of brews from London and the South East.
The venture has been inspired by a similar crawl in London, the Bermondsey Beer Mile, featuring breweries including The Kernal and Fourpure, and the founders hope other nearby food and drink producers will get involved.
Some of those taking part plan to open their doors every week from July 25, while others will be open periodically depending on other commitments. Chorlton will be open from July 19, 11am-6pm. Opening times for each venue each week are published on their website.
