The Eagle

3 out of 5 stars
A gay bar of two halves that’s best visited late at night. Whether or not you venture out back for full-on cruising and fetish nights is up to you

Time Out says

This men-only basement bar opened just a few years ago but is a well-established addition to the Gay Village.

While its doors open for a more sedate experience from 5pm daily (2pm on a Sunday), it really finds its crowd late into the night of a weekend, where the front bar pounds out generic thudding beats to a small but crowded dancefloor as the darker, cruisier back bar, the 'Black Eagle', is a little more intimate (that is to say 'dark').

Black Eagle also plays host to several fetish nights, allowing the leather, rubber or uniform crowd a space in which to compare looks.

The Eagle suggests a bar where you could spend your night pinned against a wall enjoying the pleasures of the flesh but, actually, it's a very nicely fitted out, welcoming place that isn't anywhere near as butch and intimidating as you might think.
