Make sure your kids are ready for their close-ups, ‘cause this place is hugely popular with celebrity parents (or their nannies) and, thus, the paparazzi. Even with its high-profile patrons, it feels decidedly low-key—downright relaxing, in fact—thanks in part to its small size and the babbling brook on one end of the park, which always invites tiny toe-dipping on hot days. The playground itself consists of two climbing/slide structures and a half-dozen swings over a sandy surface, and is fenced in for extra peace of mind. The park can be fun for birthday parties (call to reserve on weekends), though there are only two small picnic areas and barbecues are prohibited.
Helpful hint: There’s another Coldwater Canyon Park located closer to the Valley on Mulholland Drive—so if you’re meeting up with pals for a playdate, make sure you’re all on the same map.
