Online retail mecca, Nasty Gal, sets up shop on Melrose Avenue—the brand's first venture into a brick and mortar. The store features the brand's regular retail merchandise (think: Nasty Gal dresses paired with Jeffrey Campbell boots) as well as lots (read: in every corner of the store) of vintage Chanel. The bright 3,500-square-foot space features a shoe salon on the back near the corner with records and indie magazines, and at the center of the store a massive mirrored fitting room space. Five fitting rooms face each other with double-mirrored doors so that you could take all the selfies you want while trying on clothes, while looking out but of course not being seen on the inside. The somewhat futuristic retail store doesn't have a main cash register either—to keep in line with the inclusivity of the brand, the people who work at Nasty Gal have mini iPads where you could pay for your goods—anything from $20 sunglasses to a $2000+ vintage Chanel coat—while browsing the store. And if you're lucky you'll even get to walk away with a piece of art: Nasty Gal partnered with artist Doug Rickard to design limited edition shopping bags, featuring soft core vintage porn photos—a play on the "No, we're not a porn site," (which is written in bright neon lights on the store front) misconception.
