There's plenty of street food to be had in LA, but if you're craving the flavors of Mexican street food without buying it from an actual cart, Cocina Condesa is a solid option. The Studio City restaurant helmed by chef Eddie Garcia is packing plenty of flavor into its tacos, antojitos, and entrées like corn masa crepas and chocolate mole chicken enchiladas. The chicken-stuffed empanadas are a dream, but make sure to save room for dessert—Cocina Condesa's churros are heavenly.
Mixologist David Rubin has crafted an outstanding cocktail program here, with mezcal and tequila being the primary focus. You'll find elevated versions of the usual suspects, like a margarita with crushed crickets, salt and cinnamon dusting the rim, as well inventive drinks like El Tigre: bourbon, Ancho Reyes, CioCiaro, spiced bitters and mandarin Jarrito (a Mexican soft drink). Balanced and refreshing, it's one of the best drinks on the menu. Cheers!
