[title]The popular Twilight Concert Series at the Santa Monica Pier kicked off its 29th season Thursday evening, attracting a large crowd for the first of ten summer shows. The first show featured Florida natives Surfer Blood as the headliner with local band Terraplane Sun opening. Against the backdrop of the quiet beach and roving lights of the Pier’s park rides, the two bands' up-beat and energetic sounds complemented each other well. As the night went on, the crowd let loose underneath the open night sky as they tossed up a few crowdsurfers and started a mini-mosh pit.
