Young people: The LA Opera wants you. Of course, classical ensembles have been trying to bring in young people for a while, but this time the opera company is offering up some great new deals.
For starters, the company launched the 30/30/30 club, which means people 30 years old or younger can buy $30 tickets to sit in the Founders Circle. Only about 30 tickets are available for each show, so make sure to snatch them up fast -- the fancy seats are usually occupied by the most generous donors and distinguished guests. You can sign up for 30/30/30 ticket alerts on LA Opera's website.
Side note: for those older than 30 hoping to sneak in under the radar, the opera says they’ll be checking IDs at the box office.
The opera also announced a kick-off party September 15 from 6-8pm. There will be performances of songs from the company’s 30th anniversary season, and guests will get a look at what goes into an opera production like costumes, makeup, props and special effects. The event is free, but you have to reserve tickets online.
