Single readers, you're in luck. Each week, Time Out will feature one of our very own smart, sexy, eligible buddies for your potential dating pleasure. No crazies, no creeps, no pressure. Enjoy!
We're starting with our friends for now, but we're also taking recommendations. Do you have a single friend who's a total catch? Nominate them for I have this friend... at dating.la@timeout.com.
Pete was recommended by Kate Wertheimer, our senior associate editor: "I have this friend, Pete. He is the dreamiest. Check out that smile! And ladies, he also happens to be pretty well-rounded: He's got a good job, an art studio (Pete's a painter), a quick wit and a penchant for the outdoors—if you're lucky he'll take you bouldering or hiking to a hot spring. He's trustworthy (I've literally put my life in his hands while rock climbing), crafty (he made that tie-dye shirt he's wearing) and inexplicably single. I doubt he'll stay that way for long, though, so chat him up while you can."
Here's Pete, in his own words:
What's at the top of your LA bucket list? Party at the Hollyhock House!
What's your favorite neighborhood in LA? I'm really loving Highland Park right now. Good food, good people, good vibes and close to everything.
What's your favorite bar? The Varnish 'cause it reminds me of New York, and the Prince 'cause it doesn't remind me of New York.
Beach, mountains or desert? All of the above. I need them all.
What are three must-have items you'd stash in your earthquake kit (aside from the essentials)? Something that plays music, collections of short stories, weed.
What's the best thing about dating in LA? No shortage of fun places to go for a date, and no shortage of beautiful, talented women.
Think you and Pete might hit it off? Shoot him an email at petetimeout@gmail.com (include a photo!) and let the sparks fly.
