Elf Cafe, the cozy Echo Park restaurant known for its first-rate vegetarian cuisine and date-night ambience, is also a prime spot for drinking. But don't take it from us—take it from Joseph Harper, Elf's natural wine expert, who will kick off the restaurant's new wine class series with a lesson on the basics of natural wine.

Beginning on March 8 and continuing every Tuesday throughout the month, Elf will offer a weekly tasting from different experts in the industry, along with snacks and meals presented by chef Dave Martinez. Attend the first class led by Harper, who also writes Elf's natural wine blog, and you'll receive $5 off the following Tuesday's event. Here's the preliminary schedule for Elf's new wine school:

3/8: Harper will pour four wines—an orange, two reds and a white—to accompany a meal provided by chef Martinez. 7pm, $25

3/15: Elf is partnering with Lou Amdur from Lou Wine and Provisions, while chef Martinez will create snacks from regions of the oldest natural wine makers. 8pm, $35

3/22: Solminer winemakers will present their wine with a dinner from chef Martinez. Time TBD, $55

A potential fourth class on March 29 is still in the works. Thinking about signing up? To RSVP for a class, send an email to elfcafe@gmail.com.
