Stretching beneath The Thames, this subterranean foot tunnel links Greenwich on the south bank with Isle of Dogs on the north. It was built in 1902 so dock workers could cross the river to work. Inside you’ll find helical staircases and 200,000 white tiles covering the domed passages. It’s also a cool place to hide on hot summer days.
