Imagine taking the Secret Cinema concept and applying it to lectures. Yes, that’s right, your old university nap time supplanted into an elaborately designed, immersive theatrical space, complete with actors and themed entertainment around the talks. That’s pretty much the set-up of The Lost Lectures, a project that specialises in fascinating presentations in secret and unusual spaces. This event – their most ambitious to date – will feature talks by Emmy award-winning filmmaker James Jones and Time Out favourite Mr Bingo, as well as a world-champion beatboxer, Imperial College's 'Chief Troublemaker', The Secret Barrister, a MOBO-nominated jazz artist, a sex historian and several others. As for the 'electrograph' element, the whole event will be held in an old secret sub-station building, while the Lost Lectures team will be going completely 'off-grid' for the spectacle.
