The Garden Museum closes in October 2015 for a £6.6 million redevelopment before reopening in early 2017, but before the transformation period begins they're giving the public one last chance to see their brilliant collection of objects and artworks. Many of the pieces have never been on public display so this is a unique chance to rummage through drawers and packing boxes of unique objects that include a Victorian slide box of flora and fauna, and a scrapbook of carefully pressed flowers collected from bomb sites just after WWII by a young Londoner. Other highlights include a hanging installation of tools, a wall dedicated to the Museum's expanding collection of art and a costume display. As well as showcasing objects amassed over the last three decades, the exhibit will also provide a snapshot of the five new galleries planned for the improved site. Fans of the museum who wish to support it during its closure can adopt the objects on display, providing a donation going towards their care and conservation.
