Forman's Fish Island, which is situated 100 metres from the Victoria Gate to the Olympic Park, has created a Riviera-themed hospitality area and beach, complete with palm trees, on the banks of the River Lee. For the duration of the London 2012 Olympic Games, a pop-up beach bar, run by Maddox Club, will serve cocktails. It's expected that ticket holders to Olympic events will use the venue before and after visiting the Games, but it is open to anyone who wants to soak up the atmosphere. There's a chance to play beach volleyball and action from inside the Olympic Park will be shown on big screens.
