November 2024: The Halloween decorations have come down, you’ve just about managed to scrub the traces of fake blood off your face, and all of a sudden London has become a lot more festive; November has arrived, and the city is looking seriously sparkly as Christmas trees and light displays pop up on every street, and Bonfire Night and Diwali fireworks illuminate the skies.
A whole bunch of festive fun arrives this month, including ice skating pop-ups, Santa’s grottos, Christmas markets and festive cinema. But if you don’t celebrate Christmas – or simply think that festivities should be reserved for December only – there’s still loads going on around the city.
Cultural big hitters arriving this month include citywide music festivals Pitchfork London and the EFG London Jazz Festival, and some big new theatre and exhibition openings including the Elton John-penned musical adaptation of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, and ‘Vogue: Inventing the Runway’.
So wrap up warm and get out there!
