Housed inside a beautifully renovated old furniture factory, this vintage department store formerly known as Blitz instantly put the other vintage shops in the capital to shame when it opened in 2011. Buyers Jan Skinners and John Howlin look to nearby Brick Lane for their inspiration, buying immaculate seersucker blazers, coloured denim, brogues and silk kimonos, as well as designer labels and high end sportswear brands for their fashion focused clientele. The selection is all killer and no filler – well-presented and dazzling in its variety and quantity, everything is cleaned, steamed and folded before it hits the shop floor. Following its recent revamp and name change, the shop now stocks an edit of new lifestyle and fashion pieces from the likes of Barry the Cactus and Illustrated People alongside its pre-loved wares. There are also manis from Wah and frequent in-store events.
