The bewitching Caramel brand was started by Eva Karayiannis, a trained lawyer whose distaste for ‘mass-produced clothing covered in logos’ led her to open her own shop in 1999. Her foray into designing togs for children aged 0-12 has certainly paid dividends. The look is relaxed, not aggressively trendy but obviously well finished and fun to wear.
All the clothes on sale are Caramel, but accessories such as shoes, hats, hair ties and toys are sourced from carefully chosen smaller brands that are constantly changing. Children’s haircuts are done at the Pavilion Road branch, and there are Caramel concessions in Harrods and Selfridges.
