Formerly known as David Saxby
David Saxby’s menswear emporium is perfect for those with lord of the manor pretensions but without the trust fund to match. It’s worth persevering when perusing the rails of tightly packed suits, as Savile Row suits can be had for under £100 (and originals can cost upwards of £3,000). All the gentlemanly requisites are here: top hats, tailcoats, silk scarves, overcoats and moleskin trousers, and the shop is a favourite with those off to retro events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Saxby also has a branch in Tokyo, and his own-label menswear shop down the road (no.62), selling traditional tweed suits, silk waistcoats, overcoats and cords for off-duty gents.
David Saxby is number 81 in our list of the 100 best shops in London.
