Shepherd’s Bush Market, which runs from Uxbridge Road to Goldhawk Road, has served west London for over 100 years. Having successfully campaigned against development and the arrival of a Boxpark, the market, which operates six days a week from 9am-6pm (it’s closed on Sundays), offers fresh produce, clothing, crafts, fabrics and all kinds of multicultural foods, both fresh and cooked (head to Café 2000 for fab falafels).
For a vibrant food-focused experience, visit Old Laundry Yard, which can be accessed via the market or from a separate entrance on Goldhawk Road. This old laundry now houses 72 shipping containers where you can buy street food, much of it from local vendors. There’s also a community space for workshops and events. Alim Kheraj
