The latest exhibition to hit London College of Fashion’s Fashion Space Gallery is Mad About the Boy, an exploration of the way ideas of the teenage boy are constructed through era-defining collections and iconic fashion imagery. It’s curated by SHOWStudio’s Lou Stoppard and will bring together the work of a stellar cast of designers and photographers, including Raf Simons, JW Anderson, Nick Knight, Meadham Kirchhoff and Nasir Mazhar. Audio recordings, editorial shoots and film clips look set to form a fascinating exploration of youth and gender, accompanied by a series of fantastical tableaux curated by Tony Hornecker: from a defaced school toilet to a recreation of Meadham Kirchhoff’s SS13 menswear presentation, these imagined environments seek to immerse visitors in the different identities of the teenage boy. Here’s hoping they don’t douse the place in Lynx for added authenticity.
