Fabled for being the longest outdoor daily market in Europe, Walthamstow Market stretches for an impressive bustling kilometre with what seems like a never-ending mix of stalls, attracting locals of all ages and races to do their weekly shop. Everything you could ever need can be found here: pick up cheap vegetables, saucepans, underwear, fabrics, bags, fish, leopard print bedding, tights, clothes, shoes, toys, books and phone covers. There are also more specialist stalls offering hoover parts, key cutting, food gadgets and hand-cut foam. It’s a pleasing distance from the East End hipster trail, although the Sunday farmers’ market does attract a slightly different crowd from nearby Walthamstow Village.
