This Islington spot has been going for a few years now, settling into its Essex Road well before the relatively recent penchant for Peruvian restaurants hit town. Decor is simple – polished dark-wood tables, long brown banquette, white walls adorned with colour photos – and the drinks list includes Peruvian beer, wines and Inca Kola.
The food menu includes ceviche, yuquita rellenas (deep-fried cassava balls filled with cheese on huancaina sauce), carapulcra (sundried potato stew with roasted peanuts, panco chilli paste, pork and chicken) and Andean quinoa served 'risotto-style' with aji amarillo pepper, cream, fried halloumi and fresh asparagus. Sharing platters and Peruvian bento boxes also feature.
