With its bright blue and white colour scheme and its selection of Italian treats and drinks on the counter, Oddono’s certainly has the look and feel of a true gelateria. The chatter in French and Italian that fills the room also helps give the place a continental feel. Ice-cream is rich and indulgent; pistachio was properly good – velvety smooth and full of flavour.
Sadly, the stracciatella was a little over-generous with the chocolate, to the point where the scoop seemed to be more crunch than cream. Service was harassed, and staff were getting impatient with those bewildered by choice. Yet while Oddono’s may have been outshone by newer kids on the block, it remains a firm favourite churning out some lovely gelato. Worth a visit.
