Garden Gate

With its white walls, black wood and the Heath all but on the doorstep, there’s a touch of Tudor court about The Garden Gate. Maybe it's the proximity to Mother Nature that makes them follow the seasons to an extent that's somewhat rare in gastropubs. Specials are changed on the menu every month, and the roster of beers is also subject to regular change. Natural attractions also feature in the lovely, spacious garden, where you may find burgers and sausages fragrantly sizzling on the barbecue. Food is fairly typical gastropub fare, offered at prices that are gratifyingly un-Hampstead-like. Perfectly located for a beer or a meal after a stroll on the Heath.
