There’s more to London’s kink scene than Torture Garden (although the mega-brand, at the grand old age of 29, still draws thousands to its parties). Last year, two of our city’s fetish institutions – Club Subversion and Rubber Cult – closed. Not to worry, latex fans. Tony Mitchell, who runs the highly regarded Fetishistas site, and edited Skin Two for more than 20 years, highlights newer spots are opening across the city, filling the void.
Klub Verboten
This relative newcomer aims to bring Berlin’s clubbing style to London and has created a certain mystique with its members-only policy. (Membership is free, but only to those whose applications pass muster.)

Hard On
If dark rooms are your thing, this brilliant hardcore gay men’s night should be a go-to. The leather parties have fully equipped multi-level play areas, a man cave, dark rooms and private cubicles.

ZDR Events
ZDR, founded by Zara DuRose in 2015, is the rising star of British pervy partying, attracting a mixed audience of young singles and couples to its parties. The next one in London is Atlantis themed.

Bi-Kink Club North London
This smaller-scale event caters specifically for ‘bisexual and bi-curious kinky fetishists’. It also welcomes trans and gender-fluid folk, singles, couples and poly groups ‘of any configuration’.

Club Pedestal
If dominant women are your thing – or if you are one – Pedestal has long been the prime place in London to meet them. This bi-monthly night at Fire features a newbie-friendly atmosphere, femdom cabaret and house submissives to pamper its female guests.
