Known as one of the founding members of 808 State, Gerald Simpson went on to help spread acid house across the UK through his own psychedelic productions, which owe as much to the hedonistic Manchester electronic scene of the late '80s/early '90s as they do to Chicago house and Detroit techno. You may or may not not hear his classic tracks tonight, but whatever you do hear will be relayed by the hands of a true master.
