Families start their adventure in the Garden of Winter Wonder. Designed to be fun, and to stimulate children’s creativity and imagination, the activities include dressing up, drumming, water and sand play. Next there’s a moments relaxation in the Christmas Peace Garden, a tranquil environment created through the use of fibre-optic lights and bubble tubes. Then it’s on to the Busy Elves Workshop where help is needed to make the Christmas toys. Decorate (and eat) gingerbread men in the Gingerbread Kitchen, visit the Genies Christmas Cave to play interactive games, then visit Santa in his grotto for an early Christmas present. Finally Mrs Claus and Santa’s Magical Friends host an interactive musical. The event is the brainchild of child psychologist and children’s author Dr Margot Sunderland with sets created by theatrical designer and children’s book illustrator Nicky Armstrong. The experience is aimed at children under the age of eight; tickets must be booked in advance.
