Brixton Kids' BookJam

A mini festival for little bookworms, who will be able to meet children's book authors including Gabby Dawnay and Alex Barrow (authors of the charming 'London Calls!'), Emer Stamp ('The Unbelievable Top Secret Diary of Pig'), Piers Torday (longlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize 2014), and Andrew Weale (winner of the Red House Children's Book Award 2013) among others. After being inspired by the pros, kids can put their imaginations to work in writing workshops or spend their pocket money at the pop-up stall run by Tales on Moon Lane bookshop and manned by local children who will be up for some literary chat. There are three sessions, aimed at kids aged 5-7, 6-9 and 9-12. The venue is a temporary community space behind Brixton Market, run by Brixton Come Together.
