The Place's annual festival of new dance is back for another round, with 81 new works spread over six weeks, three pieces a night. It's a complete lottery, ranging from college graduation projects to pro dancers from big companies showcasing their own choreography. Quality is variable but there are always a few gems. The work is predominantly from the contemporary sphere but the season also takes in hip hop, flamenco, tango and a good deal of unclassifiable performance.
