This subterranean spot on Stoke Newington Road is all about the party. There's pedigree, too - the tunes usually come from local crews with ties to the music industry. Expect, then, the odd special guest or two - Friendly Fires, Gorgon City, Artwork, Dusky and Bicep have all taken to the Tipsy turntables for unannounced sets at their friends parties. A top-notch Martin Audio soundsystem provides the hardware.
The vast majority of the weekend parties are free entry, too - plus cocktails are a fiver before 11.30pm. Still not enough? There are Cuban salsa classes each week, as well as comedy nights, LGBT poetry nights and other special events - it's probably best to just keep an eye on the website for what they're up to next. And if you want to play yourself? They'll happily hear your demos.
If you get hungry you can head upstairs - Tipsy's right below Escudo de Cuba, a Cuban restaurant and cocktail bar.
