Heaven, Under The Arches, off Villiers St, London, WC2N 6NG

Art, rave, electro, fashion and scenesters unite under Heaven’s arches this Friday as the Neon Noise team pair up with hip Parisian label Kitsuné Maison, which makes a pitstop here during its world tour, fashion blog party Ponystep (courtesy of Richard Mortimer, the chap who brought you BoomBox), style rag Dazed & Confused and poster art hustlers Don’t Panic over four rooms.
But while we know that Kitsuné began life as a Banana Republic-esque fashion label, this party goes all out for style over substance. The label’s main room is where the real musical clout is – Digitalism head the choppy electro-techno DJs; HeartsRevolution, Autokratz and Punks Jump Up provide the intense live action – but from there it descends into minor celebrity vanity. Lightspeed Champion (oh dear), model Alice Dellal (oh please), Jefferson Hack (if you say so) and boutique owner Pippa Brooks are among the guest DJs.
Now we know that Jefferson Hack used to co-promote the Blow Up club night in the mid-’90s and that Pippa Brooks also has plenty of form in party promotion over the years, but this still looks as though a celebrity magazine has influenced the booking policy in the hope that certain big-name mates might also turn up (hello Kate!).
We recommend dodging the wannabe stylists and hiding out in room four, where Luca C, Warboy, K-Tron and Neon Skullz play the latest trance-core to gutter bassline to rave hop with less of the smug ‘OMG, we’re so cutting edge’ posing and more of the unabashed neon-splashed hedonism. It’s a photo blog frenzy, people!
Oh god I have tickets for this and I love digitalism (even though i originally booked for MSTRKRFT before they changed the line up) but now I am worried it will be full of 12 year olds! EEeeek!
