Dust off your dancing shoes and discover the best Camden clubs and bars
Given that the area revolves around music, it's unsurprising that there are a plethora of clubs in Camden. Some of the most renowned in the capital, in fact, including Koko, which has been entertaining Camdenites since 1900 and the Barfly down at the Chalk Farm end of Camden, which champions the best in up-and-coming rock bands. So get ready for a great night out, as you browse our round up of the best Camden clubs.
Formerly The Barfly, this corner venue has been a Camden institution for years, welcoming Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand and Bombay Bicycle Club among the many bands who’ve played early London gigs here. It was a popular hangout during the Britpop and grunge years, doubtless due to its loud, post-band DJ sets and late licence. It’s recently been taken over by The Columbo Group and relaunched as the Camden Assembly.
This globetrotting queer party has popped up at some of the world’s most famous clubs since it first launched at the Ministry of Sound in 2018. It returns to Koko this Pride for a big post-parade party headlined by Hercules And Love Affair, and featuring some debut appearances from Kitten and Bestley. They’ll also be bringing over Tama Sumo & Lakuti, who’re residents at Berlin’s Panorama Bar.
