Proud Cabaret is a swell joint with tasty tucker but it's still struggling to present compelling cabaret. This long-running show is consistent with its recent output: rotating guests Abi Collins and Mat Ricardo are great and there are strong technical skills from the regulars (host Coco Dubois's voice, Jonathan Finch's acrobatics). But there's a dearth of character and the show's spine – a series of decade-themed dance-burlesque numbers – fails to convince as sauce and offers only the glibbest period engagement. Tonight with a Halloween theme.
