Remember when Tottenham Court Road used to have multiple entrances, the Paolozzi mosaics and, er, the Central line? It looks like normal service is finally on its way to resuming as a second new entrance has opened today, the mosaics have been restored on the walls of the platforms and – the big one – Central line trains will be stopping at Tottenham Court Road again from Monday. So if you've been using Holborn as an alternative, where they've just introduced an outrageous 'walk on the left' rule, you can finally get the hell outta there.

The new glass entrance is adjacent to Centre Point and next year it will be mirrored by another entrance in the same style facing towards Oxford Street. Once the work is fully completed in 2016, TfL says the station will have three new entrances (including one by the Dominion theatre), a ticket hall five times larger than the old one, a connection to the new Crossrail platforms and some new art commissions as well as the restored mosaics.
