Feeling a bit strapped for cash this month? If you've got a couple of old Oyster cards lying around, you could be sitting on an unexpected gold mine. Well, kind of. According to TfL, there's nearly £170 million just lying around on Oyster cards that haven't been used for more than a year, made up of £83.2 million worth of deposits and £85.6 million of leftover pay-as-you-go credit. Okay, so retrieving a £5 Oyster card deposit isn't exactly going to make a dent in your rent but you can at least treat yourself to a pint. Or find them all and build a brewery.
Find out how to refund leftover pay-as-you-go credit and get your deposit back.
