Given that it's a balmy 18 degrees outside and there are 81 days (and counting) until Christmas, you'd be forgiven if you're not feeling particularly festive. But that could all change if you wander down Oxford Street, because the street's annual Christmas lights have already gone up. This is not a drill.
The lights went up yesterday (October 3), which is two days earlier than last year and means it's getting dangerously close to September every year. They won't actually be switched on until sometime in November, but until then, they're just sitting there as a reminder that Christmas is coming.
